After removing all other materials, the aluminium is processed in recycling plants using the latest technology and therefore producing minimum emissions. As a first step in the recycling process, the organic components of the painted, printed and coated packages are carbonised at low temperatures. The bare metal is then sent on to the melting furnaces. The molten aluminium obtained is used by foundries and other processing plants to make new aluminium products.
Collecting empty aluminium packages makes good sense. Aluminium can be recycled an infinite number of times with no loss of quality, resulting in energy savings of up to 95% in comparison to primary aluminium production. New high-quality aluminium products are made from the recycled aluminium. Once aluminium — always aluminium.
