IGORA currently has an annual budget of about 7 million Swiss francs. Drinks companies and aluminium beverage can importers contribute the lion’s share of this – around 5.5 million Swiss francs.    

1 centime recycling contribution is included starting 1.7.2008 in the sales price of every aluminium can. A recycling contribution of 1 centime is levied on each aluminium pet food container. The same level of contribution applies for tubes used for foodstuffs.

IGORA receives further financial contributions from the aluminium industry, which, combined with the levies on product sales, enables it to efficiently carry out the many functions it performs in all areas of aluminium recycling.

The largest items of expenditure for IGORA are communications costs and payments to collectors. In fact, the average amount paid to hard-working Swiss aluminium collectors each year is 3 million Swiss francs!
