First the good news: since 1. July 2007, the amount received by swiss local authorities for each ton of aluminium/sheet steel scrap in collecting bins has been 100 Swiss francs.
Everything else is as it always was: the aluminium packaging and tin cans in the containers is taken away by haulage and waste disposal companies, and is then taken to one of a total of 15 processing centres in Switzerland. Whether collected separately or otherwise, the aluminium and tin plate is accepted without charge by these centres. Local authorities therefore only have to pay for the maintenance of collection centres and the transport of the accumulated scrap. Plus, the increase in the contribution towards logistics costs from 80 to 100 Swiss francs per ton has significantly eased the burden on authorities' budgets.
In order to keep administrative costs as low as possible, the IGORA co-operative and FERRO Recycling recommend that the transport and disposal companies deduct the 100 Swiss francs per ton directly from their transport costs.

For their part, the transport and disposal firms are reimbursed by the processing centres. And as for bad news … at IGORA, there never is any!
